For Alix and Paddy’s wedding at House for an Art Lover in Glasgow, their playlist was a brilliant reflection of both of them, from Paddy’s love of Simple Minds and Scottish favourites to Alix’s affection for 90s indie, with plenty of big singalong moments thrown in for good measure.

Alix’s love of 90s indie brought tracks from Oasis, Supergrass, Pulp, Primal Scream and James into the mix, while Paddy’s taste leaned towards some of Scotland’s most iconic artists and anthems.

There was also plenty of 2000s indie, with The Kooks, Franz Ferdinand, The Fratellis, Arctic Monkeys and The Courteeners all making an appearance.

Then, when the big singalong moments arrived, the playlist moved effortlessly into classics such as Simple Minds, The Waterboys, The Proclaimers and Big Country.

It was a fantastic combination.

A Dancefloor Full of Personality

The beauty of a wedding playlist like this is that it doesn’t have to stick to one particular era or genre.

One minute you could have Simple Minds’ Alive and Kicking filling House for an Art Lover, followed by The Killers’ Human, before heading into Chelsea Dagger, I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor or Not Nineteen Forever.

Then came the timeless party favourites, Dancing Queen, Young Hearts Run Free, I Wanna Dance with Somebody, Don’t Stop Believin’ and plenty more.

There was something for everyone, but most importantly, the music still felt like Alix and Paddy.

And with 90s indie, Scottish anthems, 80s classics and plenty of huge dancefloor favourites all coming together, it made for one seriously memorable night.
