Marty would highly recommend that you meet up with him with you and your partner prior to booking his wedding disco services. That way you can get to know Marty and be 100% sure you want him to be your wedding DJ.

What type of music does Marty play?

After the cake cutting and first dance I will play the all time classics, to get all your friends and family on the dance floor.

As the evening progresses I will dip into the requests that have been made on the online planner.

I always ask my couples to add their top 5 songs that they each would make them hit the dance floor and then for a Spotify list to give me a flavour of the music they like.

This gives me an idea of what to play, as well as reading the room on the night.

If you want to get an idea of what I have played at my previous wedding receptions, have a read at my blog and check out the playlists from the weddings that I have entertained at.

Will Marty play my requests?

Yes Marty will play your requests. Marty recommends a selection of around 20 requests. That way Marty can get a feel for what you like and tailor your wedding reception playlist. Marty would also recommend when sending out your wedding RSVP to add any music requests for the DJ, this gives the guests a chance to get their choice of songs in. When Marty meets up about 6 weeks prior to your wedding day, he can get your wedding reception requests from yourself and guests and work the playlist for your evening.

Marty does not recommend a full to play list for the evening. I know we all love our specific type of music, sometimes you have to think of your guests attending. After all you want to let everyone enjoy themselves on the evening.

Can requests be made on the evening?

ABSOLUTELY – It is your wedding after all!

All I advise is that you leave the me a little flexibility to ensure the ability to transition between the genres and decades to keep your guests and the dance floor ‘alive’.

How much music can be played at my wedding?

On average around 17 songs can be played per hour. During a wedding reception that would mean around 60 songs can be played.

What's Marty's views on cheese?

Whilst I am not uber-cool, I am also not uber-cheesy!

Performance wise; I only use the microphone as and when required, I don’t introduce songs either (as I am not a radio DJ!) but nor do I stand there looking bored and not engaging with your guests!

In terms of music, one persons cheese is another persons gold! I will take your lead on the definition of cheese!

What I can say is, I do actively try to avoid Agadoo but I will play the macarena if requested!

What equipment will Marty bring?

Marty will bring a dj booth, PA system, mics, playout system, lights.

Can we come see you play at a wedding?

No sorry, Marty does not think this is fair on the client who has booked me for their wedding to have future clients attend.

Does Marty do karaoke?

No sorry Marty does not do Karaoke.

How long does Marty need to set up?

Marty will need an hour at both the beginning and end to set and pack up his disco equipment

What is the best time to end the wedding reception?

Marty recommends finishing your wedding reception at midnight.

Midnight is the ideal time for the big finale to your wedding day. After midnight guests will start to drift away as it has been a long day for them.

Marty your quote is higher than other DJ quotes....

The best way to answer this is by taking us up on my offer of a free, no-obligation teams meeting.

Or you can get a fair idea by reading through my website and couple testimonials.

I have been quoted £150 by another DJ

I realise that whilst looking for a DJ for your event you will receive quotes ranging from £100 to £3500 however my fees have been carefully worked out taking into account my experience, style of service, Tax and National Insurance Contributions and Business Running Costs to name but a few expenses of a legitimate DJ business – With the above taken into consideration I believe that my fees represent excellent value for money.
